The Aboriginal Poverty Law Manual is 200 pages long and available through the Legal Services Society website.  It is designed to help advocates meet the needs of their Aboriginal clients.  It includes current Aboriginal law, case law, legislation and a list of resources.

Federal Child Support Guidelines

Regulations for setting child support payments under the federal Divorce Act. The Guidelines provide a set of rules and tables for calculating the amount of support that a parent should contribute towards his or her children.

For Your Protection:  Peace Bonds and Restraining Orders

Peace Bonds and Restraining Orders are both protection orders— orders made by a judge in court to help protect one person from another.  This ten-page booklet explains how to seek a protection order, how a peace bond is different from a restraining order, and when you should apply for one or the other.  The vast majority of protection orders are issued by the courts to women looking for protection from their male partners or ex-partners. The booklet was published in August 2003 by the Ministry of Public Safety and Solicitor General.
